The Amethyst Module: Light the Way
The Amethyst module is a smaller independent GEMS module with an ambient light sensor and a RGB LED. The onboard microcontroller ESP32 C3 gives the module a capability to communicate with other devices via wifi, bluetooth, i2c or uart interface. Fewer components, many of them shared with other GEMS modules, and relative simplicity make this module an ideal candidate for students to learn PCB design with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software by reproducing the Amethyst module.
