Mechatronics summer school at UL FS

From 24.4. to 13.5.2025, the Mechatronics Summer School took place at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. Aimed at first-year mechanical engineering students, the summer school was designed to be flexible, running over several weeks between exam periods.

Participants had the opportunity to tackle various mechatronic challenges supported by the GEMS project. While a few students chose to focus on application programming and robot simulation, most were enthusiastic about building their own microcontroller development boards and learning how to program them. The hands-on, easily reproducible hardware provided an engaging and relaxed environment that encouraged creativity and experimentation.

In addition to practical work, 11 students were introduced to the broader scope of mechatronics and robotics through real-world examples and demonstrations using laboratory equipment. This combination of theory and hands-on experience helped deepen their understanding and spark further interest in the field.
