GEMS Servomotor used at Mechatronics and Laser Technologies lectures in 2024/25

The GEMS Servomotor was used for the first time in lectures of the Mechatronics and Laser Technologies course during the 2024/25 academic year. Serving as a practical example of a mechatronic system, the servomotor’s modular design enabled a structured approach to its analysis and provided an accessible introduction to mechatronics.

This hands-on learning experience was delivered to 124 mechanical engineering students who are currently deciding on their specialization paths. The GEMS servomotor shows great potential to enhance the Mechatronics and Laser Technologies course in the coming years and to be incorporated into other complementary courses at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
